ABOUT JENNY

Jenny Brandemuehl built her career as a respected executive in the tech world. When her husband survived a fiery plane crash with burns over 80% of his body, Jenny became his caregiver and medical advocate. Forever Fly Free is her story of love, trauma, and resilience. She now advocates for burn survivors, donates proceeds to the Phoenix Society, and speaks on mental health and healing. Through trauma, caregiving, grief, and rediscovery, Jenny writes with fierce vulnerability, humor, and hope. Jenny Brandemuehl was born in New York and was educated at Wellesley College and received a master’s degree in Human Resources and Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. She grew up in New York, New Jersey, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. She spent most of her career in leadership roles within Silicon Valley and the fashion industry, most recently as Chief People Officer for Chegg and previously at JDS Uniphase, Gap Inc. and Hewlett Packard. She is a passionate advocate for the empowerment of women leaders, having served on the Board of Directors for Women’s Initiative for Self Employment in Oakland, California, and Wellesley College’s Business Leadership Council. She splits time between Lake Tahoe, the Bay area and Southern California with her partner, Robert.
